While the water-resistant treatment gives you extra peace of mind, it doesn&#x2019;t make your sofa bulletproof! It&#x2019;s designed to resist water-based spills, but alcohol and oily stains still need extra care.</p><p data-start="440" data-end="656">Water-resistance means the fabric can resist water penetration to a degree, but not entirely. For example, if you spill a glass of water it will bead on the surface, but if left sitting, it will eventually soak in.</p><p data-start="658" data-end="892">If a spill happens, act quickly - blot up the mess as soon as possible before spot cleaning. For stubborn marks that don&#x2019;t lift with spot cleaning, remove the covers and wash them to stop the stain from setting deeper into the fabric.</p><p data-start="894" data-end="1043">Hot or oily liquids won&#x2019;t bead on the surface.
